Boston Sand & Gravel Hopper

Our newest limited-run “collector” car is a kit from Accurail. This 70-ton Hopper comes complete with an accurate-looking gravel load from Motrak Models. The gravel is modeled to look like “Marblehead Gravel”, found in the northern New England states. Boston Sand & Gravel Company was founded in 1914 and is a prominent landmark to the west of North Station in Boston, where U.S. Route 1 snakes around their main building on its way to the Tobin Bridge. Our model depicts their official logo on a car, which could be used to bring gravel down from their quarries in Ossipee, New Hampshire to their various plants in eastern Massachusetts. The car was built in 1955.

Boston Sand & Gravel Hopper $19.95 each + shipping: 1 car $5; add $1 for each additional car.
Massachusetts residents please add 6.25% sales tax before shipping costs.

Quincy Oil Tank Car

This collector car is a new R-T-R model from Atlas, a 25,500-gallon modern tank car. Quincy Oil Company was founded in February 1893, as a Whale oil distributor in Quincy, Massachusetts. The company became a large wholesaler and retailer of gasoline and heating oil in the Boston area, becoming Quinoil Industries, Inc. Our Atlas car is super-detailed with intricate lettering and logo and fine piping. The model includes metal wheels and prototypical, sprung, “shelf” knuckle couplers, used on today’s tank cars. This car is a “big brother” to our original Quincy Oil 10,000-gallon tank car produced in 1992, which has become a collector’s item with modelers. Also available in 25 numbers.

Quincy Oil Tank Car $27.95 each + shipping: 1 car $5; add $1 for each additional car.
Massachusetts residents please add 6.25% sales tax before shipping costs.
