The Layout

Benchwork is of open frame construction, with pine and plywood sub-roadbed. The track work is a mixture of code 100 & code 83 rail. Many turnouts and crossovers are custom built in place.

Landscape consists of a variety of terrain, ranging from flatland to mountains, with opportunities to model a variety of operations from mining to urban locals. Scenery is constructed using screen and plaster to model everything from a cemetery to mining and logging operations. Ground covering draws from traditional resources available to modelers. Structures range from “shake the box” to Kit-bashed” to “scratch-built”

The roster consists of a mixture of steam and diesel power, offering members the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment and rolling stock. Currently 2000 cars are registered to run on the railroad.

Presently, we have an Official Operations every two months, along with our Open House operations during March and October. By-monthly Official Operations run on a 6 to 1 "fast clock" and include schedules and train orders.
